Chinese National Detained For Allegedly Trespassing At Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Despite Court Ban

Authorities ordered a Chinese national to be held on trespassing charges Friday after he allegedly attempted to gain access to President-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

Police arrested Zijie Li, a 39-year-old Chinese national, on Thursday after he arrived at the estate’s gate via Uber, according to The Associated Press. Li violated a specific court directive to steer clear of the property, following his previous attempts to gain access.

Residing in suburban Los Angeles under a student visa, Li was recently discharged from a mental hospital where he had been placed in late October following his discovery near Mar-a-Lago, AP reported. He now faces two misdemeanor charges of trespassing.
