On his 42nd birthday, Tuesday, late night news broke that Will Venable will become the next manager of the Chicago White Sox, the 44th all-time for the franchise. The White Sox themselves haven’t publicly commented, but MLB’s official website has confirmed the news. Venable has a rich history when it comes to baseball. From 2018-2019, he spent time with the Chicago Cubs as president Theo Epstein’s special assistant, and then later became their third base coach in 2020. In 2021, he left the organization to become a bench coach for the Boston Red Sox, working in that role in both ’21 and ’22.
