The World Health Organization cannot be reformed

On Wednesday, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic will hold a hearing into possible reforms for the World Health Organization. The only “reform” that would be effective would be tearing the organization down and starting over.

Subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) has correctly noted that the WHO prioritized political interests, particularly those of the Chinese Communist Party, over its international health duties from the start of the pandemic all the way to now. Wenstrup has two major questions going into the hearing: “Should Americans rely on the WHO when disaster strikes in the future? At this point in time, is it possible for the WHO to be productively reformed?”
