The House of Representatives is reconvening to hold a second vote on a new speaker after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) failed to get 217 votes during the first House vote on Tuesday.
The lower chamber of Congress is expected to reconvene at 11 a.m. EDT to hold a vote on the speakership.

Jordan needs to flip 16 of the 20 Republicans who voted against him in the first vote to win the speakership. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) needed 15 rounds in January to get elected speaker.
