SAN JOSE, Calif.—The criminal-fraud trial of former Theranos Inc. executive Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani was delayed Wednesday when a federal judge sent a packed courtroom home as a health precaution, citing a Covid-19 exposure.
Government prosecutors were scheduled to make their opening salvo in the case against Mr. Balwani, the former top deputy at defunct blood-testing company Theranos, just more than two months after winning a fraud conviction against the company’s founder, Elizabeth Holmes.
