Justice Department Sues Missouri Over Gun-Rights Law

The U.S. government sued Missouri Wednesday over a state law that it says invalidates federal firearms laws.

The Second Amendment Preservation Act was signed into law last year in Missouri, making it illegal for state or local officials to cooperate with federal officials to enforce orders, rules or laws that go against the Second Amendment, which protects “the right of the people to keep and bear arms.”

The law also says that anyone who prevents Missourians from utilizing their right to bear arms will be liable for $50,000 in damages….
